habits

If you’ve ever wondered how some people just seem to have everything going for themselves, they have a great fit body, their skin is clear, they seem to be happy, intelligent, have a good career and you are struggling with strong emotional setbacks, overweight, no motivation, then keep on reading – I got you girl.

I know what it feels like when it seems like there are so many things in front of us that we can’t do anything about because they’re just too big. It’s not true though!

Finding ways to be more like the person you really want to be can be hard, I have been there. There is so much information on the topic of bettering yourself, you can really go crazy.

Read on if you want to learn what steps actually work to improve the quality of your life.

1. finding your north star

Make sure to know exactly who you are, what it is you want to change and why you want to change. A ship without a specific destination will just sail around the sea, but one with a exact destination will ultimately reach it – the good news is – you decide what’s your destination!

Whether you’re going for a body goal and want to loose 5 kg or you are having a certain career in mind you would like to strive in, you can do it all, but the first step is to get a very clear picture.

It’s also a good idea to sit down with a 20 min timer and a blank page of paper and just let your imagination go wild on who you would like to be – do not limit yourself because big goals can motivate us and pull us very strongly.

2. detect the habit

Don’t leave your written out vision laying there like this expecting it will come true – create habits around it.

The secret of the person that has what you do not have is that they do on a regular what you are not yet doing – that is great, because this means it is actually achievable. We break it down in small increments.

So take your goals that you have written down – what activity lies behind them? There is no greater truth than that consistency can work wonders – its hard to do the little things because its a habit that has to form – be aware that forming the habit is the hardest part on achieving any goal, the rest will come absolutely automatically with time.

If, for example, your goal is to weigh 65kg, be toned and feel fit, but also to start your own business, work for yourself and earn 10000 Euros a month your habit would be to obviously: eat the right amount of nutrients and calories + work out and sleep well + get the knowledge to start your business which means reading about how to start your own business and creating a timeframe a day to set it up.

3. make your routine work for you

You can track your progress only by making your goals a lifestyle. The way to doing this is to make a routine out of your little habits.

If you’re working full-time, it’s a good idea to wake up earlier and do the so called “hour of power”, but change it to your liking. For example when my work starts at 9 a.m. I wake up at 6, I listen to my affirmations while drinking my coffee, then I love to work out to the pam app videos because for me that is a very easy and fun way to get toned. While I work out I listen to a book, a faith message/ motivational speech or if I have certain problems in my life I like to type them in on YouTube and listen to a speech about that topic. This really helps me to make better decisions – and we know: THE QUALITY OF YOUR DESICIONS IS THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE.

Fiddling around with figuring out which workout to do or book to read all the time is not worth it! So make sure you make up your mind about what it is you can do that will be your no brainer (also just going for a walk is great).

4. your longterm obligation to doing your routine

Successful people know that there is a price to pay for what they want and so they do the necessary.

I first learned this trick of consistent when I was 16 and I felt horrible. My diet basically consisted of white flour and sugar and sport was very foreign to me. So I decided that I will move my body every third day, even if that means I will just run from one street light to the next and believe me there were days I really did just that :D. But this absolutely changed my life. Never underestimate what can happen when you make up your mind.

5. your routine will catapult you

If you’re sticking to your everyday hour of doing the habits that bring you closer to your goal you will eventually reach it, make no mistake about that.

You can also change your routine to your liking over time!

What are some of the goals that are just overwhelming to you? Write in the comments below, I would love to hear about your struggles! xoxo
